It was before dawn, I passed my love and a bouncing LiLi (it has to be said like this) on my way back from the loo. We climbed back into bed with two Jerk Russells between us and a moody Luna (who no-one understands at the moment) gruffling around trying to find herself, I guess! My love falls back asleep and the geriatric Moni tells me her tummy is hungry, the baffoon is on his bed in the ‘Firebird Wing’ stretching out his arthritic legs as he’s subtly telling me his tummy is hungry too.
I reach for my phone (which I shouldn’t have next to my bed but somehow always do!) and there is a message from my best friend on earth, whose hand I’m holding today, one from my Mum whose waiting to tumble dry a sheet and will soon be heading, with my Dad, down to my favourite favourite, the best blue eyes on earth and his injured Dad.
There is much to be grateful for and I’m so grateful for this – and more.
It’s the birthday of another besties husband today and I’m so happy to celebrate him and them.
This isn’t a brag post it’s a lets tell the people we love that we love them post.
There is so much more but it’s only 6:30AM and I’m trying to keep my word count down!
I watched that delightful movie The Bucket List the other day, again, and the song at the end – as we know – is the beautiful John Mayer song ‘Say’ and some of the lyrics are:
Take out of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all your so called problems
Better put them in quotations
Say what you need to say….
Even if your hands are shakin’
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closin’
Do it with a heart wide open
A wide heart..
So today, from my wide heart to yours, say what you need to say, with grace and kindness and honesty. Life is short my lovelies but it’s worth it. We can do hard things, I love you.
